Highlife musicians, Akwaboah and Wutah are the latest to join Ghana Association of Songwriters (GAS) as executive members.
With 60 official members so far, GAS is a branch of the music industry structure aimed at propagating impactful messages through music.
He established the difference between music and songs, Kobby of Wutah fame told Sammy Flex on Zylofon 102.1 FM:
“Music is made up of instrumentals with words but songs consists of words, without any instruments accompanying it.”
CEO of Greater David Communications, Emmanuel Barnes highlighted: “GAS would serve as an Artiste and Repertoire (A&R)/Publishing Wing to ensure that songwriters and singers have exclusive rights over their artistic work.”
The media launch of the Ghana Association of Songwriters comes off on June 22, at the Zylofon Media headquarters, East Legon.
Other executive members include Emmanuel Barnes himself (Mr. Logic), musicians Ayigbe Edem and Trigmatic.
