Ghanaian rapper Medikal has announced the launch of a brand new weekly freestyle series on his YouTube channel, titled 'No Filter Fridays.' The series will see the AMG Medikal rapper deliver raw, unscripted freestyles over trending beats every Friday, giving fans an unfiltered look at his lyrical prowess. The first episode dropped last Friday and has already amassed over five hundred thousand views, with fans praising the rapper's quick wit and clever wordplay throughout the eight-minute performance.
Medikal explained that the series is inspired by the classic freestyle culture that shaped hip-hop globally and aims to reignite appreciation for lyrical skill within the Ghanaian music scene. He noted that while Afrobeats and dancehall dominate the charts, there is still a hungry audience for pure rap artistry. Each episode will also feature a guest segment where upcoming rappers can submit verses for a chance to be featured alongside Medikal, creating a pipeline for discovering new talent in the Ghanaian hip-hop ecosystem.
