Tema International Film Festival Celebrates African Cinema
The Tema International Film Festival has concluded its fifth edition with record attendance and critical acclaim, cementing its position as one of West Africa's premier celebrations of African cinema. Over four days, the festival screened 65 films from 18 African countries, including feature films, documentaries, shorts, and animation. This year's festival placed special emphasis on Ghanaian filmmaking talent, with a dedicated showcase of new Ghallywood productions that powerfully demonstrated the industry's technical and narrative evolution. The festival's Grand Prize went to a powerful drama from Senegal that explored themes of migration and identity, while a Ghanaian documentary about the fishing communities of the Volta Region won the Best Documentary award to enthusiastic applause.
