Efya Announces Intimate Unplugged Concert Series Across Accra Venues

Ghanaian vocal powerhouse Efya has announced an intimate unplugged concert series that will take place across five different venues in Accra throughout May and June 2026. Titled 'Efya Unplugged: Bare,' the series will strip away electronic production and present the singer's catalogue in raw acoustic arrangements, accompanied only by a small ensemble of guitar, piano, percussion, and backing vocals. Each show will be limited to just one hundred and fifty attendees, creating an exclusive and deeply personal concert experience rarely seen in the Ghanaian music scene.

The five venues have been carefully selected for their intimate atmosphere and acoustic properties, including the Alliance Francaise, The Republic Bar, +233 Jazz Bar and Grill, the Goethe Institut, and the newly opened Nubuke Foundation cultural space. Each show will feature a different setlist drawn from Efya's extensive catalogue spanning over a decade of hit songs, ensuring that fans who attend multiple shows will have a unique experience each time. The series will also include a question-and-answer segment where Efya shares the stories behind her most beloved songs.

Efya explained that the concept was born from a desire to reconnect with her music and audience in a more authentic way after years of performing at large-scale festivals and concerts. She noted that many of her songs were originally written on acoustic guitar before being fully produced, and the unplugged format allows audiences to hear them in their most honest form. The singer also revealed that some shows will feature surprise guest appearances from fellow musicians who share her passion for live, organic musical performance.

Ticket sales opened exclusively through the Efya Unplugged website and sold rapidly, with the first two shows reaching capacity within a day. The intimate format and limited capacity have generated significant buzz on social media, with fans describing the series as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience one of Ghana's greatest voices up close. Music industry stakeholders have praised the concept as a model for how Ghanaian artists can diversify their revenue streams and deepen their connection with audiences beyond traditional concert and festival formats.
