Ex- Black Star defender, Samuel Osei Kuffour has revealed that, Ghana took things for granted after qualifying for the Wold Cups in 2010 and 2014 respectively.
¨Why didnt we qualify for the 2018 World Cuo in Russia¨, he queried.
¨We were not serious. We started wrongly with the qualifiers. Egypt gained the advantage by winning 2 games and bagging 6 points, while we drew matches we were supposed to win¨, he lamented.
The former Bayern Munich defender, was a guest on Metro TV´s ¨History of the World Cup¨ program hosted by Paul Adom Otchere.
Kuffour, who is among the few Ghanaian players to have played at all the age levels featured prominently for the National Under 17 side, the Starlets, The National Under 20s known as the Satelites, the National Under 23, called the Black Meteors and also became an integral part of the senior National Team, the Black Stars.
Ghana failed to qualify for the fourth time for this year´s mundial, after the qualifying for the last three editions held in Germany in 2006, South Africa in 2010 and Brazil in 2014.
