There Is No Unity Amongst Reggae/Dancehall Artistes In Ghana – King Lagazee

King Lagazee, host of Lagazee Soundz Show on Hitz FM has fumed over the absence of harmony amongst musicians in the Reggae/Dancehall fraternity.

In an interview with Showbiz Agenda, Lagazee mentioned that, though the genre forms a little percentage of the Ghanaian music industry, there is so much division.

His assertion came after comments made by reggae artiste Osagyefo that, Reggae music has lost its focus in Ghana.

King Lagazee said, “This small Reggae/dancehall industry in Ghana, there is so much division. What is going on.”

Commenting on Osagyefo’s opinion that the reggae industry in Ghana is lacking support from its stakeholders, Lagazee said his radio show is focused strictly on the genre, hence, the argument does not hold.

“We are doing everything we can to propel this industry. My show for instance focuses only on the genre. What is he talking about”, he added.

Also, dancehall enthusiast, Mr Logic has backed Lagazee’s submissions, saying that platforms were created for the sector, but due to bad attitude of some musician, including the likes of Osagyefo, they could not hold.
