Renowned playwright, Fio Richardson Commey has admonished musicians to emulate Ebony’s hit song, “Maame Hwe“, as a muse in making music.
The “Maame Hwe” song, which was released in 2017 from the studios of Ruff Town Record, preaches against domestic violence towards women.
In an earlier interview, Richardson underscored most songs in Ghana, describing them as songs which promote sex and alcoholism.
He therefore appealed to artistes to make songs that will positively impact the lives of the youth.
According to him, songs of today corrupt the youth and influence vices, especially, in the category of Raggae songs, smoking.
“There is a very crucial message in the Maame Hwe song. I wish some musicians could practice the same thing. Music today needs to be checked because it provokes lewdness”, he added.
