International Reggae/Dancehall musician Stonebwoy has broken the ice to reveal details about the deal he signed with Universal Music Group.

On July 17, 2018, Universal Music Group announced the launch of its West African division, Universal Music Nigeria to manage its operations within Western Africa.

This West African division will support artists from Nigeria, Ghana, and the Gambia throughout the continent and beyond, utilizing Universal Music Group’s global networks for wider discovery, marketing, promotion, and distribution.

Stonebwoy was revealed as one of the Ghanaian musicians signed to the label. This news was inaccurately reported by Ghanaian Media outlets, which suggested that Stonebwoy was jumping ships from Zylofon Music to Universal Music.

The Dancehall God made it clear that he was still under Zylofon Music and he was not leaving the label as was reported by bloggers. He explained that the deal for distribution only and not managerial or record wise.
