Spoken Word Review: The Post Man details Shatta Wale’s Music Journey

0

Spoken word or poetry performances have gradually gained grounds in music concerts, comedy shows among other events in recent times.

These performances, usually used as curtain-raisers, give some spark and create a suitable atmosphere in anticipation for the main event. Such was the mood at Ghanaian Dancehall artist’s just ended Wonder Boy Album Launch and Reign Concert when The Post Man mounted the stage.

In what would have been a precise introduction of the man of the moment that night, The Post Man creatively poured out words detailing the ‘Mellissa’ hitmaker’s music journey.

The poet showered appellations befitting enough to tell how Shatta wale transitioned from Bandana, and his struggles over the years using biblical allusions appropriately.

Within the space of 5 minutes and 40 seconds, The Post Man literally documented the life, accomplishments and setbacks of a great Ghanaian music talent oratorically just  like the griots in the Great Ancient Kingdoms did.
