Host of Vibes In 5 and panel member of Zylofon 102.1 FM’s popular morning program, Showbiz Agenda, Arnold Mensah Elavanyo has stated that seasoned dancehall musician, Samini played a key role in the popularity of acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale.
A post on ghanatunez.com listed Samini as one of the artistes Shatta Wale has promoted through his “beefs”, alongside, Stonebwoy, Chris Waddle, Yaa Pono and Kwaw Kesse.
However, Arnold strongly disagreed with the writer, as according to him, the ‘Gringo’ hit maker capitalized on his dispute with Samini to make fame.
‘Samini was already an established artiste before his feud with Shatta started, if anything, Shatta gained popularity from it”, he told Sammy Flex, host on Showbiz Agenda
He further stressed that, though Shatta was known by a number of Ghanaians, his impact was much more felt when his conflict with the “My Own” hit maker started.
According to Arnold, Shatta Wale did make any of the listed artistes in the publication popular through his “beefs” with them.
“Stonebwuoy, Kwaw Kesse and Yaa Pono had already made their mark when their beef with Shatta started. Chris Waddle on the other had seems to have faded out of the system since his beef with Shatta, hence he did not gain any popularity in any form from their discord’, he added.
Shatta Wale is however set to launch his much anticipated album dubbed ‘Reign” at the Fantacy Dome come October 13th.
Tickets for the event are out now, selling at 20 cedis regular and 50 cedis for VIP.
