Grammy nominee Rocky Dawuni has been unveiled as the Regional United Nations(UN) Goodwill Ambassador at the UN Environment headquarters in Nairobi,Kenya.
At a soirée to climax the Global Landscape Forum (GLF) African Landscape Restoration event on August 30,the International Reggae/Afrofusion icon of Ghanaian descent was entrusted with the responsibility of amplifying the UN’s messages and goals pertaining to the environment (land degradation,water,sanitation and women’s rights) through his large following.
“There is so much positive energy in Africa and many opportunities to protect and restore the environment across the continent.
Music is a powerful force that brings people together and inspires action. I want to work with communities and help them share their successes and encourage them to keep moving forward to make the future brighter for generations to come”,Rocky said.
The humanitarian activist, who is well known for his special care towards environmental issues, is expected to engage his audience in championing the environmental cause.
