Artiste manager and entertainment critique, Mr. Logic has countered the movement for Ghanaian songs to enjoy 80% airplay as according to him, this agenda is not one of the best ways to tackle the problem at hand.
Following the recent Nigeria concert organized by Zylofon Media, where Ghanaian artiste received very little patronage from the Nigerian audience, Showbiz personals have championed the movement to get Ghanaian songs to go international.
However, Logic stated in an interview with Sammy Flex on Zylofon 102.1FM that, the only way to take Ghanaian music international is if only the songs are good.
“The content of the song should be good, then we wouldn’t have a problem with crossing borders”, he stated.
Logic stated further that, provided the song is good and has perfect lyrical content, not much efforts needs to be put into promotional works outside the country.
He made reference to fast rising Nigerian musician, Victor AD’s hit single, “Wetin We Gain” which is currently doing so well in Ghana.
He asserted, “Because his song has great lyrical content, with about three months of promotion in Ghana, it is one of the biggest hits currently.”
Mr. Logic, who happens to be the Chairperson for the Ghana Association of Songwriters urged musicians to get education on how to write good songs, which can easily penetrate the borders of other countries.
