The Musicians Union of Ghana(MUSIGA), is said to be excluded in the ongoing documentary of the history of hip life.
The documentary, which is set to be premiered in the month of September, captured key media players including Reggie Rockstone, Obrafuor, Zabb Mallet and several others.
However, the union is said to have played no role in this project.
Explaining to Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda, Jumaid Liman stated that, MUSIGA is a government body for all genres of music, however, the union is not a custodian of the history of the genre.
He indicated that, throughout the seven months of working on the project, his team was never referred to the union.
“We needed key people who kick started the genre locally and internationally and no one referred us to MUSIGA”, he stated.
However, Liman affirmed that, MUSIGA can not discredit the findings of the documentary because it does not lie in their jurisdiction.
He further called on corporate Ghana to support the agenda of telling the Ghanaian story to the world.
