MTN Ghana, on September 4, held a workshop on intellectual property for industry professionals. The event was held at the MTN House in Ridge, Accra. This workshop was as part of the MTN Open Coffee.
The workshop was mostly patronised by professionals in the media and communications industry, as well as professionals in film making and academia. Popular Ghanaian faces such as film makers Ola Micheals and Akorfa Edjeani were also in attendance.
The Intellectual Property workshop was in a series of activities from presentations, to panel discussions and focus group discussions.
Various topics were extensively discussed; patents, copyrights, economic and moral rights of owners of materials, products and ideas, protecting copies of products and ideas, preventing infringements, and actions to take against infringements among others.
Focus group discussions were also employed to encourage interactions among participants. Participants had the opportunity to apply the topics discussed to solve hypothetical case studies.
Overall, the MTN Ghana Open Coffee workshop on Intellectual Property was a great learning opportunity and experience for industry professionals.
