Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Catherine Afeku has called all persons in the creative Arts industry to action.
Speaking at the event organized by All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in collaboration with the ministry to announce Ghana’s acceptance as host of the AFRIMA 2018, Hon Afeku entreated the creative industry to play individual roles to project Ghana to the world.
She called especially on musicians to be advocates of AFRIMA as regards using their music to tell the story of Africa.
Addressing the audience present, she said, “every creative artiste in Ghana is called to duty to show the rest of Ghana and the world that we are up to this task through our music.”
She added that, the narrative of Africa must change and it can be done through music.
“We can use music to bring peace and send a strong signal to the rest of the world that though we have challenges, we have overcome most of them”, she asserted.
She further implored all Ghanaian artistes to join the travel for the ten regional tours to educate, as well as share the message to the people in the rural areas to partake in AFRIMA 2018.
