Wife of the former vice president of Ghana, Matilda Amissah Arthur, has ripped hypocrites while reading her tribute at her late husband’s funeral.
The late Kwesi Amissah-Arthur’s widow, Matilda’s tribute was filled with anger at some persons in the audience who had gathered to pay final respects to the former Vice President.
She expressed her shock at the masses who have reached out to her following her husband’s passing, but not with the right intentions.
“I asked myself, is this Ghana? Are all these people in Ghana because the maligning, the lies, the treachery, the wickedness, the deliberately changing things so that you could look better than others.”
She is believed to have seemingly thrown shades at some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for marginalizing her husband, despite the efforts put into the party.
“Today I asked the same question, did people really know my husband. Did people take time to know him? The false accusations, the lies, the maligning. Did they know him?”, she quizzed.
However, she ended her grief filled tribute by emphasizing on how much her family, knew, loved and cherished her late husbands and the good works he did for the country.
“We knew you, and we know you are a rare gem, and we treasure you, and we are very proud of you.”
Kwesi Amissah-Arthur died on June 29, 2018, after he collapsed at the Airforce Gym in Accra during a workout session.
