Ghana’s music industry has seen great improvement in recent times but some industry players believe the industry still lacks in the area of budgeting for music videos.
A number of music video directors have disclosed to Zylofon 102.1 FM that, the main challenge they face is to get enough funds to enable them shoot music videos that are up to standard.
Popular music video director, Yaw Skyface was among those who spoke to Showbiz Agenda on this topic; and according to him, budgeting for music videos in Ghana is the lowest as compared to some other countries.
“We can’t even compare our budgets to many countries, not even Nigeria but we expect our videos to be of the same quality as theirs. This is a major problem we face as music video directors in Ghana”, he stated.
Also sharing his views was Zylofon Media’s very own, Director Abass, who supported Skyface’s opinion by said, we expect quality music videos but musicians and artiste management provide very little budget for their shoot.
Nevertheless, they added that with a minimum budget, they still manage to produce videos that best depicts the message in the song.
