List Of Top 10 Ghanaian Female Artistes 2018


It’s almost the end of the year, and a lot of discussions have been provoked about the contribution and support of female artistes in the Ghana music industry.

The Ghana music scene is a male dominated one with lesser attention given to female artistes as compared to males. This article is therefore to throw a spotlight the top 10 female secular artistes who have worked hard enough and whose work outcomes deserve applause.


  1. Wendy Shay
Wendy Shay

Born Wendy Addo, Wendy Shay is an Afro pop/Afrobeats  singer signed on Rufftown Records. This year, she has released hit songs such as ‘Uber Driver’, ‘Astalavista’ and her latest single, ‘The Boy Is Mine’, on which she features female rapper, Eno Barony.

  1. Wiyaala

Born Noella Wiyaala, Wiyaala is an Afro pop singer and songwriter who blends English with her native language, Sisaala and Waale. She is signed on JTV Digital and Djimba World Records. Even though Wiyaala hasn’t released any major song this year, she has been actively touring Europe and is also engaged philanthropically in women empowerment projects.

Born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, MzVee is an afropop, Dancehall and R&B artiste signed under Lynx Entertainment. This year MzVee has released hit songs such as ‘Come And See My Mother’, which features Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, ‘I Don’t Know’, and her recent single, ‘Bend Down’, which features her label mate, Kuami Eugene.

Born Adina Thembi Ndamse, Adina is a highlife and afropop singer and songwriter under the New African Movement record label. This year Adina has released songs such as ‘Killing Me Softly’ which features Kuami Eugene, and recently ‘On My Way’. She has also been featured by artistes such as TeePhlow and KK Fosu.

Born Jane Awindor, Efya is a neo soul, afro-soul singer, songwriter and actress under the One Nation record label. This year Efya has released ‘Whoman Woman’ and ‘Mamee’, which features Nigeria’s Mr. Eazi. She has also been featured on Akwaboah’s ‘Hold Me Down’ and R2bees’ ‘Could This Be Love’.

Eno Barony

Born Ruth Eno Adom, Eno is a rapper and a songwriter, signed under the 2MG Music record label. Eno prides herself as the King of Queens, and is arguably one of the finest Ghanaian female rappers. This year, eno is credited with her 2nd studio album, ‘Yaa Asantewaa’, on which she has hit songs such as ‘D33dew’, ‘Obiaa Ba Ny3’, ‘Daawa’, amongst others.

Born Joy Adomaa Adjeman, Adomaa is an afrojazz singer, currectly working with VN music group. This year, Adomaa has released a double EP titled ‘Adomaa vs Adomaa’, a 14-track project with 7 songs on each side. The EP sees the singer venturing into highlife, afrobeats and dancehall and features artistes such as Stonebwoy, Kojo Cue and Shaker. She has also been featured by Magnom on his song, ‘You Do’.

Efe Keyz

Born Ellen Ayensuaa Gyapong, Efe Keyz is a highlife and afropop singer under Zylofon Music. This year she released a hit song ‘Juju’ off her ‘Juju’ album, which has seen her on several events, pubs and club stages.
