Highlife legend, Akah Blay has revealed in an interview on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda that, he was criticized for his 2017 hit single, “Take Away”, with people describing it as controversial.
According to him, many held the belief that, a grown man of his caliber should not sing songs with such lyrical content.
“Some people walked up to me and asked why a matured man like myself could release such a song“, he said.
Meanwhile, Akah Blay mentioned that the song received massive patronage from fans in Ghana and beyond despite criticisms.
Akah also disclosed that, the idea for his song, “Take Away” had been with him for over 10 years, but the time never seemed to right for its release.
“I had no hope in Take Away. I never thought it would be a hit because it was just one song that I’ve been singing to myself for so long“, he added.
He is currently promoting his latest single, “ChiliShie” which had its first airplay on the Tuesday edition of Showbiz Agenda.
