Gospel musician, S.K. Kofi Sarpong, one of the many ambassadors selected by the ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to promote tourism in Ghana has iterated that, he advocates for tourism wherever he goes.
The “Hour By His Time” singer said to Arnold Elavanyo Mensah in an interview on Zylofon 102.1 FM’s Showbiz Agenda that, he uses his music career to push tourism in the country.
“Every chance I get, I make sure I talk about tourism”, he mentioned.
The populace, in recent times have complained of incompetence of the sworn in ambassadors to act in that capacity.
However, Kofi has confirmed that the ministry does not aid in hastening the process and execution of promotional projects for tourism.
“I have sent in a proposal to the ministries for a project in the Brong Ahafo region and for three months, I have not received funding to back this project”, he noted.
According to him, his team has scouted the region for potential tourist sites and plans to hold occasional durbars in the towns to create awareness.
Furthermore, the musician cum police officer revealed that he is still in communication with some tourist sites and also encouraging Ghanaians to patronize these sites.
