Former manager of Shatta Wale, Mr. Logic has revealed that, he mooted the idea of bringing Samini down so Shatta Wale´s brand could rise.
Mr. Logic, who gave the insight into how Shatta Wale took over the media space, on Zylofon 102.1 FM´s Showbiz Agenda, said he planned the strategy which brought Samini down so Wale could take over.
¨I had returned from Jamaica and I heard of Shatta Wale´s songs through Quophi Okyeame. I was immediately touched by the songs I heard, so I decided to push him further. Then the Samini brand had monopolized the media space, so I developed a strategy, to break Samini´s media power¨, he revealed.
This revelation came to light, during the discussion on some of the things that led to Shatta Wale´s rise to fame – a feature by Citi Fm´s Kwame Dadzie.
¨I went to see 10 top DJs at Kwaku in the Eastern Region and gave each GHC50.00, so they could play Shatta Wale´s songs. So everyday these DJs were playing his songs consistently. And at 2 am, I will call Shatta to listen to the songs being played. So he took over the airwaves, because of the system I helped built¨, he added.
This revelation goes to satisfy the long-standing feud that existed between Shatta Wale and Samini for sometime until, they decided to smoke the peace pipe after it became so tensed.
Though Shatta Wale, is always in the media for the wrong reasons, he has been able to build his brand as arguably one of Ghana´s biggest artistes, with many having the conviction, that he thrives on such controversies for popularity – to enable him sell himself and his songs.
