Highlife singer Nana Yaw Kumi popularly known as Kumi Guitar, has said he introduced Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of Zylofon Group and Menzgold into the music industry.
Speaking to Deloris Frimpong Manso(Delay), during an interview on the Delay Show, he pointed out that Nana Appiah was his mate in high school, Adisadel College.
“I won’t say we were that kind of friends who’ll break bread together but, we were very cool.”
Kumi revealed that in high school he was known for singing and dancing. And he was the first artiste to be signed on Zylofon Music.
Kumi said, he received a call to meet Nana Appiah Mensah after two months of leaving the music label of veteran music producer, Mark Okraku Mante. Nana Appiah offer him the opportunity to become part of Zylofon Music.
According to Kumi,he believed that signing onto the Zylofon label wasn’t a bad idea and, he also took the offer into consideration before accepting the offer.
He added that the public should not think that Nana Appiah is just “throwing” money away.
He praised Nana Appiah for his initiative saying,
“Nana Appiah is doing a good job. He has invested in us and we’ll repay him when the time is due. But as at now, he is just sowing, knowing very well that he’d ripe very soon.”
He further added that, Zylofon was a paradise, and he joining the label is equal to been blessed.
