Popular Ghanaian rapper, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, known by his stage name as D Black has announced that, his worth came after he started releasing high life songs.

The rapper told Sammy Flex of Showbiz Agenda in an interview that though his passion has always lied in Hip Hop, the returns were not encouraging.

He stressed that, though Hip Hop music led to his recognition as an international artiste, it brought him no money.

“I travelled the world with Hip Hop but it brought no money. I begun to see real money when I delved into commercial highlife”, he told Sammy.

D Black, who has been missing from the music scenes for a while now says he has been busy with other businesses and is set to release a number of Hip Hop tunes soon.

He explained that, he took a short leave from music to help develop new talents through his record label, Black Avenue Music.

D Black has signed unto his label a number of new artistes, including Freda Rhymes of MTN Hitmaker fame, Kobla, Wisa Greid,  S3fa, Nina Richie, Rony and Dahlin Gage
