The ‘Ye’ hitmaker’s ‘African Giant’ album has been nominated in the ‘Best World Music Album’ category of the international award scheme.
His contenders are Altin Gün, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest, Angelique Kidjo and Nathalie Joachim with Spektral Quartet.
The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for January 26, 2020, at Staples in Los Angeles.
Since the news broke yesterday, a series of congratulatory messages via social media from fellow musicians and fans around the world have trooped in.
Notable amongst them was that of South African rapper, AKA who recently had a banter with the Nigerian singer on social media over his comments on the South African xenophobic attacks.
A Twitter user with the username @brave931 asked the rapper what he had to say about Burna Boy’s Grammy nomination for which the rapper replied, congratulating the Grammy award nominee.
