Legendary music producer, Willie Roi has made an assertion that Ghanaian gospel musicians lack business sense.
Roi, who is a pundit on popular radio program, Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon FM, has advised that, gospel musicians transit from being performers on Sundays in churches, to making money from their talent.
He says most of Ghanaian gospel musicians live with the “We are doing it for God” mentality, which he thinks is wrong because, their God- given talents should be a source of livelihood for them.
“They need to explore the business aspects of their career. They should stop binding themselves with misquotations of the word of God“, he added.
He however opined that, they are not solely to blame because most gospel artistes discovered their talents in the church, hence they feel the need to give back freely to God.
Willie Roi mentioned further that, gospel musicians seek guidance and support from churches in order to earn from their talent.
He has joined the cry of several industry players like highlife musician, Dada Hafco, in the plea to get churches to support talents.
