The Actors Guild of Ghana is set for elections for its leadership roles come October 27th.
Ghanaian actor, Dan Tei Mensah, in an interview on Zylofon 102.1FM’s Showbiz Agenda disclosed that preparations towards the elections are ongoing.
He further announced that, vetting for the incoming executives will take place tomorrow at the premises of the Ghana copyright office.
According to him, candidates who are eligible for elections will be announced to the public after the vetting process is done.
Dan mentioned that the offices of the president, first and second vice presidents, welfare officer, national organizer and treasure are to be vetted for.
Furthermore, based on complaints by some members willing to vie for other executive positions on the high priced filing fee, Dan disclosed that the guild has made a decision to halve the amount.
“Some have complained that the forms are too expensive. Based on their complaints, we have reduced the rate from GHc1,000 to GHC500”, he added.
