Ghanaian disc jockey, DJ MJ has called on female musicians in Ghana to employ the services of female DJ’s.
This move, according to a post from DJ MJ is in accord with the Diva Invasion movement, to propel female talents and give them some recognition within their field.
In a tweet DJ MJ said, “Just thinking out loud, why can’t the female musicians work with female DJs? I feel it’s time for them to team up and present Ghana and Africa to the world.”
Speaking to Sammy Flex, host of Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon 102.1 FM, MJ pointed out that, female musicians as well as DJ, are not gaining the recognition they deserve.
According to her, though some female musicians are doing very well, they are not receiving the reach they deserve in the somewhat male dominated industry
“How many times do you see our female artistes on some of the big stages, or a female DJ as the main DJ for such shows.
She further called on all the women in the music industry, to join forces and champion the movement to gain the attention they deserve.
