Early this year, the nation came to a standstill after the sad demise of beloved dancehall chanteuse, Ebony Reigns, in a gruesome car accident at Bechem, in the Bong Ahafo region.
The fatal accident was caused by the bad nature of the Bechem road leading from Sunyani to Accra.
Reports from Sunyani says the road is still causing more accidents, as intensive renovations have still not been carried out.
A Sunyani based reporter told Zylofon FM that, following Ebony’s death, some potholes along the road had been fixed but the condition of the road has deteriorated over time.
“The road was fixed immediately after Ebony’s passing, however, it wasn’t done properly hence, it’s ebbed once again. It is still causing more deaths”, he reported.
However, National Road Safety Ambassador, Gabriel Adu Gyamfi, has called on private organizations like Zylofon Media to support the road safety agenda to help keep our roads safe.
“We need national support to push this plan. I hope private organizations will come on board to collaborate with the National Road Safety Commission to help us save lives by making our roads safe”, he stated.
Ebony died on February 8th 2018, along with two others while returning from a visit to her mum in her hometown.
