Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known in music scenes as Davido has been applauded for his excellent acceptance speech at this year’s BET awards.
During his speech, the musician called on people from all over the world to visit Africa and experience the culture.
Following this act, fans from across Africa have showered praise on Davido for his initiative to sell Africa to the world.
Davido, the first international act nominee to receive his award live on stage, during the main Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards since the inception of that category in 2010, took advantage of the opportunity to promote Africa.
He further announced the release of his next album for the year and urged the world to watch out.
The enthusiastic singer, whose hit songs include, “If” and “Fire” said,”. I am telling you guys, come to Africa, eat the food, wear the clothes.”
“Thank you guys for the support. Get ready for me, my album drops this year. Thanks BET, Thanks Africa, Thanks everybody”, he added.
Davido went ahead to call on international artistes to work with African artistes.
” My continent’s been so blessed to influence so many cultures. Y’all let’s collaborate”, he said.
This act from the musician has earned him much more love from fans all over the world.
Davido beat Booba (France), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Dadju (France), Distruction, Boyz (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (Congo), J Hus (U.K), Niska (France), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Stefflon Don (U.K) and Stormzy (U.K) to win the award.
