Highlife musician Kwame Anokye, popularly known in music circles as Anokye Supremo, has rendered an apology to his Godfather, Daddy Lumba on Zylofon 102.1 FM.
His contrition was influenced by Sammy Flex, host of popular morning program, Showbiz Agenda, who pointed out that Anokye may have offended his mentor.
Anokye expressed remorse saying, “I’d like to use this huge platform [Zylofon FM] to apologize to Daddy. I may have offended him without knowing and I ask that he lets sleeping dogs lay.”
Explaining what could have led to the lawsuit, Anokye Supremo disclosed that, he was confronted by a group that wanted to organize a celebratory concert for Daddy.
Anokye added that, he was billed to perform Daddy Lumba’s songs at the event but did not discuss payment with them.
It was later alleged that he was impersonating the celebrated musician in order to make money off his name.
Anokye however rendered an unqualified apology to his role model, though he insisted that his actions were misinterpreted.
“I never discussed payment to perform at Daddy Lumba’s celebratory concert. I was willing to do it for free just to honor him. But I don’t know how it came across. Anyways I just want to say sorry”, he added.
Supremo, who is currently promoting his single titled, ¨Hash-Wuish¨, explains that the song represents the pains human beings go through, with women expressing the pain in that romantic manner.
