Ampofo Ankrah Hopeful Of Qualifying For Next Beach Soccer World Cup

President of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is optimistic of his outfit participation in the next world cup.

He made this assertion at the just ended Greater Accra Cal Bank Beach Soccer Super League at the Laboma Beach resort this weekend.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Bright Yaw Adom of Zylofon Sports, Ampofo Ankrah said the association is aiming for a world championship in the future.

¨We qualified for the Africa Cup but couldn’t make any impact. Our aim is to play probably in the next World Championship ̈.

̈ Though Government ́s support is limited, I believe as beach soccer develops, more corporate bodies will come on board,̈ he stressed.

Two clubs have each qualified from four regions for the next stage of the super league. The clubs are Jomoro and Shamaa from Western Region, Marine and Young Sharks from Central, Havedzi Warriors and Keta Sunset from Volta and Layoka and Sea Lions from the Greater Accra region.

The association members are set to meet this week to determine where to play the champion of champions.
