Currently, some females in the Ghana movie industry have been able to break through an area which was formerly known to be male dominated as producers and directors through hard work, hence deserve some accolades.

*Leila Djansi
Born July 17, 1981, Leila Afua Djansi is an American and Ghanaian filmmaker who started her film career in the Ghana film industry and has produced, “I sing of a Well”, “Sinking Sands”, “Ties that Bond”, “Nothern Affair”, etc.
*Anita Oduro
Anita Oduro is a Ghanaian film producer and director and has produced, “The perfect man”, “Stay”, “The Night I found love” and “Counter Trade”
*Juliet Asante
Juliet Yaa Asantewa Asante is a Ghanaian film actress, producer and director, and philanthropist and has produced, “Grey Dawn” as well as “Silver Rain”, which was nominated for Best Film in West Africa and Best costume for 2015 in the Africa Magic viewer’s choice awards and also 2015 Best Overall Film In Africa.
*Shirley Frimpong Manso
Shirley Frimpong-Manso is a Ghanaian film director, writer, and producer. She is the founder and CEO of Sparrow Productions, a film, television and advertising production company. She won Best Director at the 6th Africa Movie Academy Awards and has produced, “Potato Potahto”, “Adams Apple”, “A Sting in a tale”, “The Perfect Picture”,etc.
