美国等网友寄语四川地震灾民

　　Having been in 2 earthquakes in California USA my sympathy and best wishes go out to all the bereaved families and friends who have lost loved ones in this terrible natural dissaster. Living in China makes this to me very near to my heart and thankfully the Govt. has moved very rapidly and I congratulate The Prime Minister Wen in taking charge at very short notice to oversee the rescue operations.

　　我在美国加州经历了两次地震。对于在此次灾难中失去亲友的中国人，我致以深切同情和慰问。因为我曾经生活在中国，这件事特别牵动我的心。感谢中国政府和温总理的迅速反应，使得救灾活动得以迅速全面展开。

　　The Chinese government has responded extremely professionally. Damage mitigation is in full swing， and I trust the country can still continue helping those other unfortunate souls in next-door Myanmar.

　　As an American， first of all， I would like to offer my deep condolence to the family of the victims and deliver my sincere consolation to all people in the damaged area. As well， in the earliest time， I hope all suffered people as well as the community will be able to re他urn to normal. Once again， I pray for the victims of this terrible natural disaster and I wish all people there will rise more firmly from their sadness as soon as possible.

　　作为一名美国人，首先，我向死难者家属以及所有灾区人民表示沉痛哀悼。同时希望所有受灾群众的生活能重新恢复正常。我再次为灾民们祈祷，希望你们能迅速从悲痛中振作起来。

　　I got a call from Australia asking if I felt the earthquake in Beijing. It was only then that I realised the "vertigo attack" which I felt 15 minutes ago was in fact an earthquake! Indeed I did at the time look around for signs of earthquake in the form of swinging lamps etc.， but things are so modernized these days that aren't any lamps dangling from the ceiling anymore.

　　I checked on the internet and congratulations to the Hong Kong's Metro News， which already carried a report on the quake. This was soon followed by CD online. Sorry to say Google News was caught napping， not to mention CNN and BBC which although normally the first to spread bad tidings about China， were deep in their snores.

　　我接到从澳大利亚家人打来的电话，问我在北京是否感觉到了地震。直到那时，我才意识到15分钟前我感到眩晕原来是地震！我环顾了一下四周，寻找地震的迹象，如灯是不是在晃动，但如今一切都那么现代化，天花板上也不再有什么挂灯了。我马上上网，首先在香港一家网站新闻看到了此次地震的报道，紧接着是中国日报网的报道。非常遗憾的是，google新闻那时可能正在美国那边“打盹”，更别提CNN、BBC了。这些往往最先报道中国负面消息的媒体，当时正酣睡着呢。

　　I felt terribly shocked and sad after watching the news about the super-quake that wrecked havoc in Sichuan! May God bless everyone in the Sichuan and life returns to normalcy soon.I wish and hope that the Chinese government would speed up the rescue efforts to save those citizens still trapped under the rubble and destroyed buildings. GOD bless China.

　　在看完四川发生的强烈地震的新闻后，我感到非常震惊和难过。愿上帝保佑四川的每一个人，愿那儿的生活尽快恢复正常。我希望中国政府加快援救速度，赶紧将困在废墟下的人解救出来。上帝保佑中国。

　　MY THOUGHT & PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED IN THE WAKE OF SUCH A TERRIBLE DISASTER... I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CHECK ON THE PANDA RESERVE FOR HOURS WITH NO LUCK. 80% OF THE GIANT PANDA POPULATION RESIDES IN THE EPICENTER AREA. I AM UTTERLY DEVASTATED & SICK TO MY STOMACHE TO THINK THAT WE HAVE POTENTIALY LOST THESE MAGNIFICENT， ENDANGERED CREATURES. THE MAGNITUDE OF SUCH A DISASTER IS UNMEASURABLE.

　　受灾群众牵动着我的心，我为他们祈祷。我试着了解大熊猫保护区的情况，但几个小时过去了，我一无所获。百分之八十的大熊猫栖息在震中地区。一想到我们有可能失去这些美好的、珍稀的生灵，我难受得快崩溃了。

　　My sincerest condolences to the families of the victims. Be courageous because I am confident that the government will make the utmost effort to relieve the situation. My prayers for you all. I know that Chinese people are resilient and enduring.
